Callidus had 16 employees run in The 5K Swisse Color Run on the 17 February 2013. $750 went towards the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) as their nominated charity in Perth!
JDRF require support on their mission to help the prevention and cure of type 1 diabetes in Australia seeking to urgently identify the environmental factors that are triggering our increasing rates of type 1 diabetes.
All 16 employees had a fantastic race, starting off in white shirts and various colourful pants, high in spirits and ending up multi-coloured from head to toe, a little bit worn out but with
spirits still soaring before a wind down breakfast/morning tea/lunch!
The event saw a record turn out with 10,158 people registering to take part in WA’s largest cycling event. This was a 25% growth on the 2012 event.
Along with the growth in registrations, the event saw an incredible growth in fundraising with the fundraising total almost double on last year’s with $190,000 dollars donated to the Asthma Foundation WA to date. All proceeds go towards the event beneficiary which will go towards research programs as well as education and training for asthma management.
There are over 2 million Aussies living with asthma and we have just over 225,000 living here in WA. Callidus had 7 employees sign up and ride contributing $334.50 in total.
