Valve sealing reliability is fundamental to a plant production and safety. Callidus supports its clients to achieve these objectives by modifying existing inventory, for example with this weld overlay build for an end user in the LNG industry.
The valve design uses lip seals for isolation and shell pressure boundary seals in a carbon steel body construction. By designing the valve to use a weld overlay on static and dynamic seal faces, a leak failure mode due to corrosion can be prevented.
The use of existing stock and Callidus designing, machining and weld overlay Inconel 625 saved cost and lead time to meet on-site shutdown planning requirements.
Thanks to the collaboration between our engineers and workshop, the valves were all ready in time and looked the part when ready to be dispatched to the client.
